Gentilly Landfill (P-0375) is permitted as a “Type III” solid waste facility by the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality. This site is permitted to accept construction/demolition debris, woodwastes, and yard trash, as defined by LAC 33:VII.115.

Waste Screening:
-Waste screening takes place 3 or more times prior to final deposition:
- Tower Inspection
- Spotter Inspection at ground level
- Operator Inspection as the load is culled
-If unauthorized (non-permitted) waste is found in a load, it is handled appropriately:
- at the tower, the load is rejected and the truck is refused entry
- by the spotter, the truck is reloaded, charged a ‘rejection fee’ and is re-directed to an appropriate landfill
- by the operator and/or spotter (once the truck has departed), the waste is segregated in an isolated and properly contained area based on the type of debris (i.e. HHW, garbage, e-waste, tires, etc)
